Airedale Hospital workers will demonstrate in anger at being treated like 'second-class citizens'.
Porters, domestics, catering and security staff at the hospital are employed by AGH Solutions (AGHS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, which does not honour NHS terms and conditions, including NHS pensions, sick pay rates, annual leave and Sunday working enhancements.
More than 150 Airedale Hospital workers will go on strike from 12 - 15 September as part of the same dispute.
Joe Wheatley, GMB Organiser, said:
“These workers are the backbone of Airedale Hospital and without them, safe and effective care simply wouldn’t be possible.
“It’s a disgrace that they’re being treated like second-class citizens.
“They’re walking out not out of choice, but out of necessity; with heavy hearts and unwavering resolve.
“Airedale and AGHS management must finally acknowledge their worth and deliver equal pay, fair terms and the dignity every member of the workforce deserves."
