Asda Skelton faces strike action after workers voted to walk out.

More than 110 staff at the store will take industrial action in anger at health and safety issue, a loss of working hours in the store and the wider fight for equal pay.

A protest will take place outside the store tomorrow [September 19] at 11.30am [1]

The ballot saw a total of 75 per cent of GMB members vote to walk out.

Strike dates will be announced in the coming days.

Louise Race, GMB Organiser, said:

"Never before have Asda workers in the region voted for strike action.

"Staff at Skelton have shown that they are not willing to compromise on health and safety or working conditions any further.

"With our equal pay claim opening in the high court, this is a clear message to Asda management that it’s time for change."
