GMB has launched an indicative ballot for industrial action at Calderdale Council.  The ballot will cover workers in Green Spaces, Street Scene, Transport and Community Protection, and is in response to members’ concerns that their GMB rep is being bullied by management.

Wakefield is a must win by-election for the Labour party, a win will further reduce the Tories Parliamentary majority preventing further attacks on working people.

The GMB has a proud tradition of campaigning across Yorkshire, and we will do our part in the upcoming by-election to ensure a Labour victory.

This afternoon we concluded interviews on who to endorse as part of the upcoming selection for Labour candidate in Wakefield. Both candidates performed well but we have on this occasion decided not to endorse a candidate.

We wish the candidates well in the upcoming selection and look forward to campaigning for a Labour victory in the upcoming by-election. 

GMB Union members have been campaigning hard to get Asda bosses to deliver

The team from GMB were outside an Asda store on Chaucer Road in Sheffield today as part of a National Day of Action, to show support for Asda workers and to raise awareness with shoppers and the public of the current equal pay dispute with the giant retailer.

Valeo Confectionery Ltd supply products to Marks and Spencer.  Sadly, workers who make these products at Valeo have been subject to threats of ‘fire and rehire’ to impose poorer terms and conditions on their workers

Striking Fox’s Glacier Mint workers are set to stage a mass protest today telling bosses to drop their fire and rehire threat.
