You will have seen the news over the holiday period and the devastation suffered by people living within our region.

We are coordinating collection points as we are seeking donations to distribute to those affected.

The collection points are:

- Wakefield GMB Grove Hall, 60 College Grove Road Wakefield WF1 3RN

- York GMB, 75 Gillygate York, YO31 7EA

- Brighouse GMB, Clifton House, Clifton Road, Brighouse, HD6 1SL

Drop off points will be open Monday 4th January at 9am.

We are asking our members and your colleagues to donate essential items from the following list:

Disinfectant, bleach, hand wash, mops, buckets, shovels, bin liners, marigold gloves etc

Bedding, towels, toiletries including ladies hygiene products, Kitchen equipment including small electrical items (preferably new for the electrical items), candles, torches, kids toys.

No clothes are needed at this point.

We are also setting up a flood relief fund and donations will be gratefully accepted.

Please make cheques payable to GMB and write on the back flood relief or drop cash donations off at your local GMB office.

Please contact local groups direct if you would like to help with clean up operations.
