We are sad to report that our dear friend and retired GMB official, Mick Hubbard, passed away in the early hours of this morning, at home with his family around him.  

Mick worked at National Office for many years before coming to work out of the Regional Office in Wakefield.  He retired from GMB in 2015 and had kept in touch with many of his colleagues; he was always on hand to help with a GMB campaign or gate job.  He was also an active member of his local Labour Party.

Everyone who knew Mick will remember him as a very intelligent, kind and compassionate man, with a wonderful mischievous sense of humour. 

Mick will be missed greatly by his GMB friends and colleagues, and our deepest sympathies go to his wife Viv and his family.

Mick’s funeral will take place on Thursday, 17 February at 1.40pm at Dewsbury Crematorium, Heckmondwike Road, Dewsbury WF13 3PL then on to The Vic, 47 Manor Road, Ossett WF5 0AU.
