A public meeting will be held at Knottingley Town Hall this Saturday [21 June] to address growing concerns over the proposed glass tax and its potential impact on the local glass manufacturing industry.
The event will bring together community members and senior management from Verallia and Stoelzle glass manufacturers.
The event aims to provide a platform for the local community to voice their concerns.
Discussions will focus on the economic and employment implications of the glass tax for Knottingley, a town with a proud heritage in glass production.
GMB representative and local glass worker, Graham Westerman, said:
“This will be a good opportunity for workers from the glass industry, and the local community, to feed their concerns back to the decision makers in Parliament, to let them know the devastating impact the glass tax could have on Knottingley and the surrounding communities.”
