All members of the GMB belong to a branch which may be industry or workplace based.
Each branch is part of one of seven GMB Regions. As well as being part of a Region and branch structure GMB members may also belong to one of three industrial sections of the union, public services, manufacturing or commercial services.
Each section is headed by a National Secretary based at GMB National Office. The National Secretary and National Officers report regularly to a Section National Committee who advice the GMB Central Executive Council (CEC).
Members, through their branches and workplace representatives, can participate in the Union’s democratic decision making by submitting motions to our annual Congress.
