A total of 22 NHS Trusts across Yorkshire & North Derbyshire face GMB members’ strike ballot after rejecting pay cut

More than 200,000 homes could be affected as refuse collectors fight for pay to keep pace with the cost of living, says GMB Union 

GMB Activists from several branches joined Tracey Brabin, Mayor of West Yorkshire, Alex Sobel MP for Leeds North West and Barry Gardiner MP demanding the passage of a new law which would ban fire and rehire tactics. 

The rally comes as Barry is proposing a new law in Parliament that would ban fire and rehire tactics used by employers to enforce poor terms and conditions. The recent British Gas strike was brought about because the employer opted to impose unfavourable contracts on gas workers, this new law would make that illegal.
